When GMRS Live first started out there were no groups or hubs for people to talk on. We realized we needed to supply a starting point. The 700 HUB along with 701 and 702 was created for a place for users to go when they first joined GMRS Live. It was intended to be a family area with no bells, whistles or noise makers. We wanted it to be a place where a person or a family could listen to plain talk and enjoy learning about this great hobby. It was never the intention of the network to host these HUBs forever. We knew as it caught on members of the network would start creating their own groups and mold them in a way they liked. That is what happened. We now have many groups both Public and Private that use the GMRS Live System. With more and more doing just that we removed the 701 and 702, they were no longer need. We had planned on removing the 700 at some point, we even tried it but failed. People thought the network was shutting down. It couldn’t be further from the truth.
So the 700 will stay. We have some great moderators overlooking it and it is running smoothly. It is a place for members new and old to hang out and get used to things. You are strongly encouraged to visit other groups and see what is going on.
